Editorial Policy
The standards OCXLY Digital Media House holds itself to: accuracy, sources, independence, sponsored content, AI-assisted tools and how we separate editorial from everything else.

Principles
Five words guide the work: curiosity (ask better questions), clarity (make complex things understandable), creativity (tell stories people remember), technology (understand the systems shaping our future) and independence (substance over noise, and no paid coverage).
Accuracy
Every published claim is checked before release. We distinguish between what we have verified, what we have been told and what we infer. Where we cannot verify something material, we leave it out or label it clearly as unconfirmed. Numbers are sourced. Quotes are exact.
Sources
We name sources wherever possible and link to primary material: documents, code, data, recordings. Anonymity is granted only when a source faces real risk and the information is in the public interest; at least one editor knows the identity of every anonymous source. We do not pay for information.
Corrections
Errors are corrected on the story, with a dated note explaining what changed, and logged on the corrections page. We do not silently edit published work.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Editorial decisions are made by the editorial desk alone. Nobody outside it sees a story before publication, including sponsors, partners or OCXLY community projects that a story may concern. Staff and regular contributors declare financial interests and do not cover organisations they hold positions in. Where a story touches a project connected to OCXLY, that connection is disclosed in the story.
Sponsored content and advertising
We do not accept payment for coverage, and we do not publish paid articles disguised as editorial. If we ever carry sponsored content it will be labelled "Sponsored" at the top, visually distinct from editorial, produced outside the editorial desk and excluded from our feeds' editorial categories. Advertising, if any, never influences what we cover or how.
AI-assisted tools
OCXLY may use AI-assisted tools for research, transcription, translation, summarisation, accessibility (for example alt text drafts) and production workflows such as image generation for abstract illustrations. Human editors remain responsible for every published claim. We do not publish AI-generated text as reporting, we do not fabricate quotes, images or events, and we label synthetic imagery that could be mistaken for a photograph. When AI tools materially contributed to a piece beyond routine assistance, the piece says so.
Images and video
Photographs are not altered beyond routine adjustments. Illustrations and generated artwork are captioned as such. Video and audio are edited for length and clarity without changing meaning.
Community and comments
Community spaces run by OCXLY have their own rules. Editorial content is not shaped by engagement metrics or by what performs on any platform.
Security research and responsible disclosure
If you find a security problem with this website, please email hello@ocxly.com with enough detail to reproduce it. Do not access other people's data or disrupt the service. We will acknowledge reports promptly, fix confirmed issues and credit you if you wish.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached this policy, contact hello@ocxly.com. A member of the editorial desk who was not involved in the piece will review the complaint and respond.
